Throughout its history, Ferguson Beauregard has made the needs of customers its top priority. In these trying economic times, the company knows that budgets have been slashed and belts have been tightened all across the oil-and-gas exploration industry as companies attempt to operate as efficiently as possible with an eye constantly trained on the bottom line.

To aid customers in meeting these stricter budgetary demands, Ferguson Beauregard has announced that it will once again manufacture and sell its complete line of alloy-steel plungers, which will be known as the “FB Classic Line.”

It’s the law of the jungle when it comes to oil-and-gas exploration: after a time prolific, long-life pools tend to be neglected because while year after year after year they produce, they eventually are taken for granted and don’t get the attention they should later in their life, meaning they are essentially forgotten even though they still may have much more to offer.

That was the case with a series of wells owned by a leading exploration company that are located in the Eckville field, just west of Red Deer, Alberta, midway between Calgary and Edmonton.

In an effort to help its customers increase and optimize production in oil and gas wells that have marginal flow characteristics, Ferguson Beauregard has designed a new low-cost, high-efficiency Two-Stage Plunger Lift System. The system utilizes two plungers, one installed below the two-stage tool and one above, which create a mechanical interface between the produced liquids and gas. This interface eliminates fallback, which boosts the well’s lifting efficiency, while a corresponding decrease in bottom-hole pressure increases product flow.
