One of the main edicts of the New York-based Dover Corporation is for the entities that it owns to find synergies amongst themselves and then work together to streamline their respective operations, all in the name of the greater good. Ferguson Beauregard has done just that with Theta Oilfield Services, Inc., La Habra, CA, another member of the Energy Products Group within the Dover Fluid Management market segment.

Late in 2008, two of our largest customers alerted Ferguson Beauregard personnel that they would be developing more and more of their well sites on a pad basis, which would consolidate a larger number of wells at a single well-pad location. Ferguson Beauregard already supplied both of these customers with its RTU5000 Shared Flow Controllers, which are able to manage four wells at a time, but they were looking for a new system that could manage even more wells at a single site.

After setting the standard in remote well monitoring with its RTU5000 Remote Terminal Unit, Ferguson Beauregard has upped the ante with the development of its RTU5100™, the most advanced wellhead RTU that is currently available in today's plunger-lift control market.

The RTU5100 offers a uniquely simple, yet powerful, approach to well-production management, measurement and optimization. As a full-function RTU, it provides field-proven production optimization that utilizes Ferguson Beauregard's patented Auto-Cycle™ plunger-lift control algorithm, which achieves optimum well performance through automatic self-adjustment of flow and shut-in times. This allows for control of the well's production cycles based on plunger velocity.

In an effort to be closer and more responsive to our customers in the Western Region, reduce delivery times and decrease the need for maintaining large inventories in the area, a new Ferguson Beauregard manufacturing cell began operating in the Grand Junction, CO, region in early 2009. This new manufacturing cell focuses on the rapid delivery of plungers to Ferguson Beauregard customers in the Western Region.
